Let Our 8 Days Tour From Casablanca Begin!
Let’s spend a week in Morocco! We will arrive in Casablanca, Morocco and start our one week Morocco private tour with a visit to the iconic Hassan II Mosque, designed by Michel Pinseau.
Our journey continues to the captivating Imperial City of Rabat, where historical wonders await. The Royal Palace, adorned with intricate details and Moorish flair, promises a glimpse into Moroccan architecture. Next, we stand beneath the Hassan Tower, a minaret frozen in time, yet symbolic of Rabat’s rich past. Finally, the Oudaïa Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, will give us the ability to see what a 12th-century building should look like.
We will spend the night in Fes. Our one week Morocco trip just started and we will have already seen so much!
All About Fes
We will begin our second out of 8 days tour from Casablanca in Fes, the oldest working medina in the world, often referred to as a living museum. We will visit the 14th-century Palace Gates of the King, one of the oldest and largest royal palaces in Morocco.
We will then venture into the Jewish Mellah, a Jewish quarter enclosed within the old cities of Morocco, and visit the Ibn Danan Jewish Synagogue, once home to a flourishing Jewish community in the 17th century.
Next, we will walk through the bustling local fruit and vegetable market, witnessing the vibrant stalls of local traders selling their everyday wares. We will also explore the Dyeing Souk, filled with colorful and fragrant silk, wool, and cotton textiles.
In the afternoon, we will go on a journey to discover the city’s rich heritage and culture. We will explore the Tannery, a UNESCO World Heritage site known for its unique production method, and the Weavers Cooperative, where we will get to see traditional techniques in action.
Our journey will then lead us to the Mausoleum (Zaouia Sidi Ahmed Tijani), a revered shrine dedicated to Sidi Ahmed Tijani, a Sufi saint. Next, we will visit the University of Kairaouine, the oldest continuously operating university in the world, and admire its stunning architecture and vast library.
We will then venture to Nejjarine Square with the chance to shop for carpets, scarves, and local handicrafts. We will also explore The Bou Inania Medersa- an educational institution founded in AD 1351-56.
Day 2 of our 8 day Morocco trip is over, we will spend the night in Fes and wait for what’s to come!
More Fes!
On Day 3 of our 8 days tour from Casablanca, we’ll explore the culinary delights of Fes by wandering through the bustling souks and sampling local delicacies. We’ll start with the Batha Museum and Gardens, where we’ll admire the rich collection of traditional Moroccan artifacts and immerse ourselves in the atmosphere of the gardens.
Next, we’ll step into Palais Mokri, a stunning landmark residence built in the early 20th century. This grand palace showcases the captivating Fasis architecture and offers a glimpse into the lavish lifestyle of Morocco’s nobility.
Our journey will continue as we venture into Jnan S’bil Garden, a peaceful spot amidst the bustling city. We’ll relax and unwind in the peaceful atmosphere of this verdant area and perhaps visit Les Jardins De Biehn, another enchanting Andalusian garden.
Sahara Desert Tour
On Day 4, we’ll bid farewell to the vibrant city of Fes and start our picturesque drive to the Sahara Desert, crossing the majestic Middle Atlas Mountains. Along the way, we’ll get to see the charming town of Ifrane, affectionately called “Little Switzerland” due to its alpine landscape, and meet playful Barbary macaques in the cedar forests.
Continuing our journey, we’ll stop at Midelt, a cozy town nestled amidst the mountains, and Erfoud, known for its vast collection of fossils. We’ll also see the imposing American-Moroccan University, a symbol of cultural exchange between the two nations.
We’ll arrive at Merzouga when the sun begins to set and hop on a thrilling camel ride into the vast Erg Chebbi dunes. Surrounded by the endless expanse of sand and the twinkling stars, we’ll spend the night in a luxurious tent, nestled within a natural oasis.
From the Desert to Palmeraie de Skoura
On Day 5 of our 8 days tour from Casablanca, we’ll go on an exploration of the Sahara Desert’s flora and fauna. We’ll venture into the dunes of Merzouga on foot, discovering the unique plants and animals that thrive in this arid environment. We’ll then head to the Saharan towns of Rissani and Erfoud. We’ll also visit the old ksars, traditional fortified villages, and continue to the village of Ait Ouzzine, nestled within the Middle Atlas Mountains.
In Ait Ouzzine, we’ll immerse ourselves in the traditional Berber culture. We’ll meet local families, savor a delicious couscous lunch, and explore the village. After lunch, we’ll have the opportunity to experience traditional Berber customs, such as henna painting, saffron hair adornment, and the creation of musk and amber perfume. Our afternoon will conclude with a relaxing cup of mint tea.
In the evening, we’ll depart Ait Ouzzine and drive along the Draa Valley, a route once traversed by ancient caravans transporting dates and other goods from the Draa Region to Marrakech. We’ll reach Palmeraie de Skoura before sunset, where we’ll spend the night.
Journey to Ouarzazate
On Day 6 of our 8 days tour from Casablanca, we’ll bid farewell to Skoura and start our journey to Ouarzazate, passing through the awe-inspiring Tizi-n-Tichka Pass. Along the way, we’ll stop at the UNESCO-listed village of Ait Benhaddou, a picturesque kasbah that has served as a backdrop for numerous films, including “Game of Thrones” and “Gladiator.”
After exploring the ancient walls and narrow alleyways of Ait Benhaddou, we’ll continue our ascent to the Tizi-n-Tichka Pass, winding our way through the stunning landscapes of the High Atlas Mountains. We’ll pause at a local cooperative to experience the traditional process of making argan oil, a precious Moroccan ingredient renowned for its culinary and cosmetic benefits.
Finally, we’ll descend into the bustling city of Marrakech, where we’ll check into a riad and immerse ourselves in the vibrant atmosphere of this enchanting destination.
Marrakech History Tour
On Day 7, we’ll go on a guided historical tour of Marrakech, exploring its rich cultural heritage and vibrant atmosphere. We’ll begin at the enchanting Majorelle Gardens, designed by the renowned French artist Jacques Majorelle. We’ll then admire the towering Koutoubia Mosque, a masterpiece of Islamic architecture, and stroll through the bustling Jewish Mellah, a historical quarter with a unique blend of cultures.
Next, we’ll venture into the labyrinthine alleyways of the Grand Medina, where we’ll discover the bustling souks, filled with an array of spices, handicrafts, and traditional Moroccan goods. We’ll explore El Bahia Palace, a magnificent example of Moroccan architecture, and pay our respects at the Saadian Tombs, a UNESCO World Heritage site.
In the evening, we’ll go on an unforgettable culinary adventure, savoring a five-course tasting menu of authentic Moroccan street food (such as snail soup) in the heart of the iconic Djemaa el Fna square. As the sun sets and the square comes alive with vibrant entertainment, we’ll indulge in a feast of local delicacies, including head of sheep soup, snail soup, boiled eggs and stuffed breads, simmering hot mint tea, and a variety of sweet treats.
