From the Desert to Fes- Morocco Departure

Today we bid farewell to Merzouga, going on the final leg of our private Morocco tour. After breakfast, we climb into our vehicle, a sense of bittersweetness settling in as we leave the desert behind.

Our journey takes us through Errachidia, the largest city in the desert region. Here, the pace slows down slightly, allowing us to soak in the unique atmosphere. A stop at a panoramic viewpoint affords breathtaking views of the Ziz Valley, a tapestry of verdant palm groves contrasting beautifully with the sun-baked landscape.

With rumbling stomachs, we arrive in Midelt, aptly nicknamed the “city of apples”. The aroma of fresh fruit fills the air as we savor a delicious lunch, refueling for the afternoon’s adventures.

After that we set our sights toward Azrou’s Cedar Forest. Nestled amidst the towering cedar trees, we will get the chance to see playful Barbary macaques swing from branches.

As the sun begins its descent, we’ll pass through Ifrane, a charming mountain town nicknamed “the Moroccan Switzerland”. Quaint chalets and European-style architecture create a unique atmosphere, a whimsical contrast to the traditional Moroccan landscapes we’ve encountered throughout our journey.

We finally reach our last destination- Fes. Our 4 day tour from Marrakech to Fes came to an end, but don’t worry, next time when you get the itch to visit this beautiful country, we’ll be here. Until next time!
